The grapes harvested in the Bourgogne wine region in 2015 were simply perfect. They were in tip-top health, and at optimal ripeness, a double whammy that will make this year one to remember. The 2014 vintage has confirmed its early promise: An excellent year, with good volumes, although not enough to fully make up for the low stocks. After another unusual year in terms of weather, September 2014 lived up to its reputation for “making the wine”. The grapes produced nicely balanced wines with intense colors. The 1.58 million hectoliters harvested underlined the size of the yield, despite some disparities in certain areas, in particular due to episodes of hail that had a significant impact in plots around Lugny in the Mâconnais, and on the Côte de Beaune.
